Somebody stole my Panasonic’s lights, and I thought there is no such thing as theft in Japan! Well, I guess after locking the bike with lights attached for more than a year, it had to happen eventually. However, it is sad, that a status-quo of absolute respect for the belongings of others is slowly fading from this culture. I once even used my iPhone for claiming a table in a crowded Starbucks, before leaving for the counter to get a cup of coffee. A stupid habit, especially if you repeat it in a different country. 20 years ago, so foreigners claim, you could put a 500 yen coin in the middle of the street and people would not take it away, because somebody might be looking for it. Anyway…
