I have played EVE Online a few years ago for a short 14-day trial period, but stopped my subscription after the first month. The recent game-development at CCP has peaked my interest in their MMO flagship development EVE Online, again. For the most part I am curious how far they’ll be able to push the envelope for interactively merging DUST514 and EVE Online within the same “universe”. While EVE Online a spaceship simulation, with a heavy emphasis on corporate politics, economics and piracy, DUST514 is a rather generic sci-fi FPS, adopting EVE Online backstory, design as well as certain game mechanics (skilling, fitting). What I am most curious about, from a game-design standpoint, is the interaction between the two game worlds, starting at hiring FPS mercenaries to fight for territorial disputes within the MMO, up to issuing orbital bombardment from the MMO right into a live FPS game-session.

Let’s see where CCP can go with this.
